Im having my toe nail removed & want to know what the after care is?

im having my toe nail removed %26amp; want to know how i should care for it after %26amp; how long i'll be off work for?Im having my toe nail removed %26amp; want to know what the after care is?
Whenever I removed a toenail I would apply antibiotic ointment with the first dressing and arrange for the nurse to change the dressing and review after 24 hours. the patient is then given dressings to change daily themselves. Time of work depends on both the patient and their job. For example someone who needs to wear safety boots might be off for a fortnight, whereas a sedentary worker who works local to his home, might only be off for 2 days.Im having my toe nail removed %26amp; want to know what the after care is?
They'll bandage it. Normally putting an anitceptic netting on it to prevent infection, they'll stick two needles in it before hand so be prepared for that, doesn't hurt if you ask for 'Magic cream' which numbs the pain. The nail will gorw back shortly after. Dont worry. Its for the best.

Best of Luck

Ask the doctor or nurse who performs the procedure. If you need to know in advance, ask the practice nurse at your GP surgery. : )
