Have toe nail fungus. Dont want to take drugs. To many side effects. Any other ideas?

have gone to doctor but the only thing he told me is to take the drugs and that they are only 80% effective. Dont like the odds on those.Have toe nail fungus. Dont want to take drugs. To many side effects. Any other ideas?
You're not going to get any alternative medicine with better odds than 80%. I think that's pretty good anyway. If you're against drugs, then ask your doctor about paint on varnish. This works fairly well and is only taken externally. I'm surprised that he didn't tell you about it! I live in Australia, though, so maybe you don't have it in America, or wherever you come from. It should be cured in a few months.

The alternative is to use Vics Vaporub or tea tree oil on your nails twice a day. This, though, is very slow, and likely to take up to a year to be cured.

Good luck!

Of course, there is no guarantee that one method of treatment is better than another. Nail fungus is best treated from within (oral dose). Some funjus infections, athletes foot being foremost, may be successfully handled with Lamasil, for example. One of the most effective oral drugs for nail fungus treatment is:

Griseofulvin (Generic Name: griseofulvin Brand names: Fulvicin P/G, Fulvicin U/F, Grifulvin V, Gris-PEG, Grisactin 250, Grisactin 500, Grisactin Ultra, Griseofulicin, Griseofulvic).

This drug is actually an antibiotic that attacks fungi. It usually is given for 2-3 months (RX needed), but has side effects of concern relating to pregnancies and breast milk.

My husbands step dad had a really bad foot fungas a long time ago and could not afford a doctor. so he soaked it in bleach. and from what i heard it was bad enough that he couldn't walk and the bleach killed it. I have no idea what any side effects could be, so you may want to do a little research on that before you try it!
look online for uses for Hydrogen Peroxide. I read that it does help nail fungus. I use peroxide for cleaning my kitchen countertops. Kills bacteria that accumulate or are left behind. I use peroxide for many, many more things and if you do a search for peroxide uses, you will see most of them.
Vinegar. Dab some on and under the nail every day, at least once a day, until the nail completely grows out. It can take as long as a year since toenails grow very slowly. That's how I got rid of mine.
Your own urine will cure athelets foot and nail fungus---Really!!! Don't take the drug, my dr. said it is hard on the liver and you have to have testing done throughout taking the drug to keep an eye on what is going on with the liver.
Take garlic supplements http://www.wakunaga.com Garlic is a natural antibiotic and immune enhancer.

Apply Colloidal silver or Goldenseal to the fungified area.
Depending on what you have some beauty supply stores sell fungus killer you put under your nails. Works pretty well, but again it will depend on what you have.
Seriously, pee on your toes.

Pee has anti fungal properties in it. Research it if you don't believe me.

Natures miracle :)
Soak your feet in peroxide 2 times a day. It should start going away in just a few days.
Vicks Vaporub
tree tea oil works, and organic apple cider vinegar works (so) i have heard.
tea tree oil applied directly to toe nail. works wonders.
listerine.. try it. you'll be amazed.
